The Odds

Yeah. So are the odds of everyone existing exactly as they do. So are the odds of this exact timeline unfolding the way it has. Once something happens, its probability is 100% in hindsight.

Improbable outcomes don’t prove design. They prove that one outcome had to happen.

Before the Beginning

Why do people assume the Big Bang was the beginning of everything? The Big Bang explains the earliest stage of our universe. It does not explain the beginning of existence itself.[1]

Why does existence have to begin at all? Why can’t the universe have always existed? If something is eternal, it doesn’t need a starting point. The idea that everything must have a beginning comes from human intuition, not necessity.

People ask, “What started the universe?” Why does there have to be a “what”? Why can’t existence simply be? If the universe has always existed, there is no first moment to explain.

The Regress

People also say everything must have been created by something else. Okay. Then what created that? And what created that?

If everything must have a creator, then you’ve already accepted an infinite chain of causes. There is no end to the “Where did that come from?” question. If you’re willing to accept an infinite regress of creators, why is it harder to accept an eternal universe?

Saying “God always existed” and saying “the universe always existed” both require accepting eternity. If eternity is already possible, then existence itself doesn’t need a beginning.

How Do We Know Objective Reality Exists?

If objective reality is completely independent of us, then how could we ever observe it? Every observation is filtered through our senses, our brains, and our perception. We can’t step outside ourselves to compare our experience to reality as it truly is.

How do we know our senses don’t define reality instead of simply detecting it? We don’t. We can only experience reality through ourselves.[2]

If all knowledge comes through subjective experience, then how can we ever know anything is objectively true?

Religion & Usefulness

All religions conflict with one another. So what are the chances that one human religion perfectly explains the creation of existence? What are the chances humans created a story capable of explaining something as fundamental as existence itself? What if there wasn’t even a creation?

I don’t trust people enough to accept certainty about something nobody can verify. I don’t trust overly religious people because confidence is not evidence.

Religion, especially Christianity, may still be one of the best ways for many people to live. Rules, communication, community, discipline, and the feeling that someone is always watching can encourage better intentions, stronger societies, and more progressive work.

But usefulness does not make something true.

A belief can improve lives without accurately describing reality.

If There Is a God

If there is a God, I think God is closer to energy than a human-like being. Energy cannot be created or destroyed. It only changes form. That makes more sense to me than a being that simply appeared or existed in a way we can’t explain.

Meaning & Survival

Humanity only ultimately has meaning if it survives. One mistake, and we’re gone. All consciousness. All knowledge. All history. Everything humans have ever learned disappears.

If consciousness ends forever, so does every meaning we ever created.

Polarity

This universe runs on polarity. Every action pushes something forward or pulls something backward. Win or lose. Build or break. Create or destroy. Nothing is truly neutral forever. Every decision moves reality in a direction.

Choose with intention.

No Certainty

I don’t claim certainty. I question certainty. The more fundamental the question, the less I trust simple answers.

I believe existence may be eternal, objective reality may be unknowable as it truly is, religion may be useful without being literally true, and humanity’s greatest responsibility is to preserve consciousness while recognizing that every action shapes the future.
